Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any vintage, antique item, collectible or curio that you’re considering selling.
We buy a very wide range of items and it’s unusual for us not to make an offer.
To provide transparency, it’s worth being mindful of the following:
- We will always ask for proof of ownership and/or complete paperwork which may include asking to see some certified identification. We do this because we pride ourselves on trust & integrity.
- The offer we make will almost certainly be less than the valuation we’ve provided. This is because we would look to make a small commission and to also cover costs such as storage and time advertising it etc. (Antiques generally change ‘hands’ 4-5 times before reaching the end customer and associated items’ full value).
- Please disregard the content of various TV Antiques shows. These are invariably staged by production crews and are not fully representative of the realities of the antiques trade.
- Supply & Demand play an enormous role in determining value.
- Trends are also a big factor. Items ‘off trend’ can see their value plummet. Often in very short timeframes. On the flip side - Something small such as TV period drama or social media trend could come along and the desirability (and thus the value) will rocket.
Antiques have similarities to the stock market in terms of volatility.
